Dear flist,

In a couple of weeks I need to move the contents of my London flat - including some bulky-ish furniture - down to Somerset where my parents live, to store while I'm away. Due to family circumstances, my parents are now unable to help move stuff, which had been the plan.

So: Does anyone know of man-with-a-van (not a removals company, they're too expensive) who could pick up my stuff from London and drive it down to Somerset? Any numbers/recommendations welcome!

In brief, they are of joy.

The specific incident:

The basses were singing a bit over and over, trying to get the notes, and he made them do it individually, and he said one did un "r" anglais - at which I commented that it wasn't really English, very much. So I sang the line (which was Latin - the Magnificat, fecit potentiam in brachio suo, dispersit superbos...) in an English accent, which they agreed wasn't actually very different to the way we had been singing it.

Then I sang it in Somerset. Just... Wurzelify the Magnificat in your head next time you hear it. We all had hysterics. Just a little.

*grin*
