Oh dear lord

They are going to remake Gladiators

This was one of the odder things I've seen. It's just such an early 90s show... except a lot of the hair was very late 80s. I mean, seriously? It used to be part of my childhood Saturday night TV (which also included Noel's House Party and Big Break. Is it any wonder I turned out like this??) and then I saw several episodes re-run on Sky a couple of years ago and couldn't believe 1) how useless they all were and 2) just how dated it was, and how incredibly cheesy...

...well, that explains the terrible sense of humour and fondness for weak puns, I guess.

you just described every saturday night of my entire childhood. just add the dinner of fish fingers, chips, and beans which dad cooked.

apart from not remembering big break and not liking fish fingers, ditto! i'm sure i recently tried to explain noel's house party to someone and just couldn't.

even just trying to explain mr blobby is doomed to failure. it's like trying to explain panto to americans!

*twitch* Memories of Noel's House Party *twitch* not good for sanity. And Big Break (It's Snooker! It's a gameshow! It's an utterly pointless combination of the two!).
Now I think on this, in fact, between Bruce Forsyth presenting the Generation Game, Paul Daniels's magic show, and Jim Davidson on Big Break we were basically getting a triple bill of elderly bigots back then

More or less! It is distressing that that was Saturday night, not that it's necessarily better now (wouldn't know...) but I sincerely hope it's not as bad.... no, wait. Strictly Come Dancing = Bruce Forsyth. Move along, world, nothing's changed.

Of course! Now I remember! And yes I did watch that too.

<3 for gladiators. MAJOR love. It was one of my favouritest programs evar. I was ill over the summer for a couple of weeks, and watched it on one of the really dodgy sky channels at Helen's all day.

It was all abut Wolf. He was *awesome*. And hang-tough, because nobody ever won at it. And also the Duel was awesome.

Did you see the one where they met their Australian counterparts? They had a Wolf-type too, and there was so much painfully scripted banter/evilness...
