Everything is softer and more beautiful
Dec. 26th, 2005 01:23 pmWell, firstly, I am in a much better mood, as those of you who have spoken to me/heard from me since yesterday will know.
It was a lovely day, the best Christmas I remember for quite a while - my brother wore a pinstripe jacket, black shirt, bow tie I got him for his birthday, new stripy scarf, and his acting hat and just looked WONDERFUL and I wanted to put him in a box to keep him like that because it was just great.
I did all the washing up and half the food preparation (fast, clean and efficient due to waitress/sous-chef work the past week) and everyone was very unstressed and calm and it was lovely.
No one had broken or mixed up presents, and I got some things I'd asked for, and other things I hadn't but loved, and everyone was really pleased with my presents to them. No one fell out, and.. oh, it was just great.
Fell asleep about half 2 after a quick phone call feeling very happy and lovely-ified after this Christmas Day.
Today, it is turkey sandwiches, and trying to fit books into my room (um...) and writing all my thank you letters and starting to pack for New Year. No law since I got home, but I don't care. It's been a very merry Christmas, and all I wish is that I could have run round everyone I knowe yesterday and given everyone hugs, because I did wake up feeling guilty.
